GREEN
GREEN is a series of text-based images that address Fevral’s observation of anxiety in Vancouver’s young artists who worry about their ability to stay in the city and the pressure of attaining immediate success as they work long hours in the service industry to pay their rent. GREEN is about the feeling of being on a time crunch, trying to find success and a place in the city, while simultaneously realizing that this speed and schedule don’t lend enough time to develop as an artist or a human being.
Bio
Lisa Fevral is a Siberian Canadian artist based in Unceded Coast Salish territories, also known as Vancouver, BC. Fevral’s practice concerns itself with issues of migration, accountability, mental health and the influence of modernity on perceptions of space/time; Her most recent works try to integrate fine art into the everyday and be more accessible to audiences outside of the fine art world.
