City Poems Project

The Vancouver Poet Laureate’s City Poems Project has involved an innovative collaboration between local poets and teams of student media artists from Simon Fraser University’s IAT 344 (Moving Images), Emily Carr University of Art & Design’s 2DN 211 (2D Animation) & Foundation 160 (Core Media Studio), and UBC’s FNIS 454 (Indigenous New Media, Critical Indigenous Studies) to create a compelling array of poetry videos based on selected poems about historical, cultural and ecological sites located on the traditional, unceded territory of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh peoples, currently known as Vancouver.
